The Office (US) Ten Year Anniversary

Announcement: Today it's going to be ten years to the day, since the first episode of the US version of the The Office aired. I'd like to maybe write something about it, something on what it is about it that I like so much. That it is funny, that it is real, that it is about humans, which is again why it is funny. What made it trap me some nine months ago, actually after it ended its original network runs, and keeps me personally re-running it up until today. Perhaps also to allow myself to nerd out about my favorite TV show; in fact, I already subtly did so at the start of this post. But for now, this post is just here as a, what-do-you-call-it, remembrance, I don't know the right word; or a pointer for anybody who didn't know it existed to find a copy and try watching it and see if he or she likes it. I can at least say that I am pretty sure that I am better off for finding it. And when I find the time, I'll try explaining why this is.

Action Aversion

There are so many angles to it. But a simple way to think about it is as action aversion. And then, what the causes for it might be.

Lots To Say

I would like to paint myself into a good corner, with ink.

The brunt of it would be about communication, in one form or the other. Some reasons why it won't work in some circumstances. Mostly why one will end up in impossible binds, in all too common circumstances, due to being beset by specific personality traits.

Varying content. Good is when a video is sort of right but wrong. Not wrong, but wrong for me; doesn't apply to me because of X. And this X tells me something. Reminds me of what is wrong.

Later

Maybe I can write about it later.

Freedom of Speech

Having the internal ability to talk is as important as external ability. It is needed for freedom. Maybe it in fact IS freedom.

Where does it come from? Probably our genes.

How is it disabled or messed with?
